CEDC On-Campus Internship
 
The Career Exploration & Development Center (CEDC) is seeking an intern for Spring 2019 (for credit or unpaid). 

Our Mission
The Career Exploration & Development Center (CEDC) assists Lehman students and alumni with all phases of their career development, to help them transition from college to career. This includes career exploration and counseling, deciding on a major, employer connections and internships.  We strive to provide the highest standards of comprehensive and specialized services so that they may successfully meet the challenges of a globally competitive job market.
 
Program Overview
CEDC Internship Program will provide training to enhance the skills and knowledge of individuals who aspire to work in career development, higher education or human resources. Under direct supervision, the intern will work with professional staff to assist students and alumni with all phases of their career development. The candidate will complete 15 hours per week from January 28th 2019 to May 22nd 2019. 
 
Primary Responsibilities
• Assist in developing and facilitating career development workshops
• Collaborate in the planning and execution of employer initiatives including information sessions, screening of resumes for selected employer partners, internship and job fairs
• Advise students and alumni on resume and cover letter creation/updates
• Represent career center at on campus events including orientation, classroom presentation, student clubs and activities
• Collaborate with social media coordinator in communicating services and programs to students
• Under direct supervision, help students clarify goals, explore career options, and develop action plans
• Complete special projects as assigned
 
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
• A general understanding or interest and application of college student development and career development theory
• Ability to interact effectively with the campus community and external stakeholders
• Understanding of multicultural and global competence
• Ability to function competently in a team environment
• Analytical, organizational, reasoning, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master's program in a related field (i.e. College Student Personnel, Higher Education Administration, Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, Counseling)
• Able to work approximately 15 hours per week
